Every year, on the exact moment the Sun returns to its natal position, a new Vedic year begins. This is the Varshaphal — the Sanskrit word for "fruit of the year." It is a complete horoscope cast for that precise moment, revealing the themes, challenges, and gifts that the cosmos has prepared for the year ahead.

I am sharing mine publicly for the first time — not as a prediction, but as a map for conscious living. Because at Artemisia, everything we do is rooted in the belief that ancient wisdom systems — Vedic astrology, Western astrology, I Ching, Ayurveda, aromatherapy — are not separate disciplines. They are different languages describing the same truth: that we are part of a living, intelligent universe, and that scent is one of the most direct bridges to that intelligence.

My Solar Return for 2026 began on April 15, 2026. Here is what the stars revealed — and how I am working with essential oils to navigate each theme.

🌙 My Three Nakshatras: The Soul's Signature

In Vedic astrology, three Nakshatras define the core of who we are: the Ascendant (how we meet the world), the Moon (our emotional body and inner life), and the Sun (our soul's purpose and vital force). Here are mine — read directly from my natal chart.

👑 The Year Lord: Strength & Auspiciousness

In Varshaphal, the most powerful of the five year lords is called the Varshesh — the Lord of the Year. This year, my Varshesh is strong, well-placed, and aspecting the ascendant.

"This year is excellent for physical well-being and mental peace. Success in competitive endeavors is likely. At home the atmosphere will be peaceful and harmonious. For working women, chances of success in business or work this year are bright. Your financial position will be strong. People will accept your influence. This year is highly auspicious for you."

I receive this with gratitude — and with the Krittika awareness that auspiciousness is not given, it is earned. The stars open doors; we must walk through them with integrity.

My Gene Key 42.4 (Life's Work: Celebration through Detachment) speaks directly to this: the gift of this year is not grasping at the good fortune, but celebrating it lightly, holding it without clinging.

🌙 Muntha in the 4th House: Coming Home

The Muntha is a sensitive point that moves one sign per year. This year it sits in my 4th house — the domain of home, family, emotional roots, and the inner life.

"Strong vitality and emotional balance allow you to operate with clarity and confidence. Satisfaction comes from family matters, especially through children's progress. Spiritual inclination deepens naturally, guiding you toward meaningful giving and disciplined values."

For me — a founder who has built Artemisia from a deeply personal place — this feels like an invitation to return to the source. To remember why I began this work. To let the business grow from rootedness rather than ambition.

This resonates profoundly with my Gene Key 32.4 (Evolution: Veneration/Preservation/Failure) — the call to preserve what is sacred, to honor the roots, to build something that endures.

It also speaks to what Rudolf Steiner called the biographical rhythm — the 7-year cycles through which the soul incarnates more deeply into earthly life. In Steiner's framework, each 7-year cycle carries a distinct developmental theme: the first three cycles (0–21) build the physical, etheric, and astral bodies; cycles four through six (21–42) are for building — identity, relationships, creative work; cycles seven and eight (42–56) deepen into wisdom and shadow integration. The ninth cycle (56–63) is the phase of offering back — the soul has gathered enough from life's depths that the task shifts from receiving to transmitting. At 62, I am at the threshold of this completion. The 4th house Muntha confirms it: this is a year of harvest, not of planting.

🌊 Munthesh Moon in the 12th House: The Art of Surrender

The lord of the Muntha — my Moon — sits in the 12th house this year. The 12th is the house of endings, the subconscious, spiritual retreat, and liberation.

For a Bharani Moon — already at the threshold between creation and dissolution — and an exalted Taurus Moon — whose gift is beauty made tangible — the 12th house this year asks: what beauty can only be born in the dark? What does the exalted Moon gestate when it surrenders to the invisible?

"Intermittent health concerns and occasional mental strain appear this year, though no serious complications are indicated. Support from friends and relatives stays dependable. Professional advancement arrives after delay, helped by cordial ties with seniors and influential figures."

The Moon in the 12th also activates the Sampoorna Rognashaka Yantra — a Vedic remedial configuration whose name means "complete disease destroyer." The prescribed remedy: chanting Om Som Somaya Namah (salutation to Soma, the Moon) 108 times daily until completing 11,000 repetitions — approximately 100 days — and donating rice to the needy. Soma is the Vedic Moon; rice is the Moon's grain, white and water-grown. Giving it away enacts the 12th house lesson physically: surrender what nourishes you, and you will be nourished. A daily act of surrender.

My Gene Key 55.1 (Sphere: Freedom/Victimisation → Freedom) speaks to exactly this threshold: the passage from feeling victimized by circumstances to discovering the freedom that lives on the other side of complete surrender.

⚡ The Yogas of This Year

In the Tajika system of Varshaphal, Yogas are specific planetary configurations that form in the annual chart — combinations of planets in particular relationships to each other and to the Ascendant. Unlike the natal chart's permanent Yogas, these are temporary: they arise for this year only, coloring the quality of the entire solar cycle. Some Yogas bring support and flow; others bring friction or delay. The art is in reading them together — not as isolated predictions, but as a composite weather report for the soul.

This year, five Yogas are active in my chart simultaneously. They form a coherent story — one of generous giving, patient waiting, sudden visibility, and the resilience to hold it all with grace:

• Ithasala Yoga — A fast-moving planet applies to a slower one, transferring its energy before the year is out. In practical terms: incoming support arrives before I ask for it. Help, resources, and connections flow toward me this year.
• Easarpha Yoga — The reverse of Ithasala: I give before I receive. This is the year of generous offering — of putting the work out into the world before the return is visible. The Yin Water Day Master knows this rhythm well: dew falls silently before the flower opens.
• Khallasara Yoga — A configuration of patience. Not everything arrives on schedule. Some things that seem delayed are simply gestating — like the exalted Moon in the 12th house, like the Bharani womb that holds before it births.
• Radda Yoga — Solar visibility and recognition. The exalted Ashwini Sun, hidden in the 12th house for a lifetime, begins to be seen. This Yoga carries a built-in caution: recognition requires humility. The Krittika fire must not become arrogance.
• Kuttha Yoga — Personal power and resilience are available this year. Inner strength is accessible even when outer circumstances are uncertain. The warrior's Mars in Revati — the elder's Mars, the transmitter's Mars — is activated.

Read together, these five Yogas describe a year of patient, generous, visible, resilient offering — which maps precisely onto my Gene Key 3.5 (Pearl: Innocence/Innovation/Chaos): the gift of innovation that emerges not from forcing, but from trusting the chaos long enough for the new form to crystallize.

✨ The 36 Sahams: Sensitive Points of the Year

The Sahams (also called Arabic Parts) are 36 mathematically derived sensitive points in the Varshaphal chart — each one a precise degree that activates a specific life domain for the year. They are calculated from the positions of the planets and the Ascendant, and they function like fine-tuned antennas: where a Saham falls, that area of life is especially alive and responsive this year. This year, my Varshaphal is teaching me that the fire of Krittika is most powerful when it burns in service of surrender. That the exalted Taurus Moon knows how to make beauty from darkness. And that the Ashwini Sun — exalted at the very first degree of the zodiac, hidden in the 12th house — is always, always at the beginning of something.
