Hexagram 49 is Lake (☱) above Fire (☲) — the image of fire burning within the lake, two opposing forces creating the conditions for radical transformation. This is the hexagram of revolution, radical change, and the sacred timing of transformation. The lake and fire cannot coexist indefinitely — something must change. But the I Ching counsels patience: on your own day you are believed. True revolution comes at the right moment, with the right preparation.
