💧 The Librarian — The Inexhaustible Source
Hexagram 48 is Water (☵) above Wind/Wood (☴) — the image of water drawn up through wood, like a well whose waters never run dry. This is the hexagram of the inexhaustible source, deep nourishment, and the wisdom that cannot be depleted. Towns change, civilizations rise and fall — but the well remains. The source of life is always there, always full, always available to those who know how to draw from it.
The Librarian archetype here is the keeper of deep knowledge — the one who tends the well of wisdom so that all may drink. The danger is not in the well itself but in the inadequate rope — in not going deep enough, in stopping just short of the water. True nourishment requires the courage to go all the way down.
