🕯️ The Lightworker — Veiling the Light to Protect It
Hexagram 36 is Earth (☷) above Fire (☲) — the image of the sun sinking beneath the earth, the light hidden in darkness. This is not defeat — it is strategic withdrawal. The wise one knows when to veil their light, to protect the inner flame from those who would extinguish it. Like the injured pheasant who flies with one wing, perseverance in adversity is the highest form of courage.
The Lightworker does not abandon their light in dark times — they protect it. They learn to shine inwardly, to nourish the flame in secret, until the time comes to illuminate the world again. This is the wisdom of Ming Yi: the light that cannot be extinguished.
