When you buy an essential oil, you naturally want to know as much as possible about its origin. This includes how it has been grown, harvested, and distilled. We always provide specific cultivation information for complete transparency.

🏆 CERTIFYING BODIES

Our essential oils are sourced from premium European suppliers (Oshadhi) and certified by two different European organisations:

Prüfgesellschaft Ökologischer Landbau

Most (but not all) of our oils originate from within the EU. These oils are certified for ingestion and are created from certified organic raw material.

Eco-control

This certification is specifically for oils used in skin-care. All are created from certified organic raw material.

🌿 CULTIVATION METHODS

Certified Organic Farming [Cert org]

• No use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides
• Distillation under low pressure with no overheating
• Slow distillation to preserve maximum active components
• Preserves the essential oil's special aromatic effect and healing power
• Quick distillation (high pressure, high temperature) destroys precious therapeutic elements - we never do this

Certified Organic Wild [cert org wild]

• Essential oils from wild-grown plants
• Harvested and distilled according to certified organic regulations
• Production quality identical to certified organic essential oils

Wild-Grown [wild]

• From wild-growing plants (e.g., Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Siberian Pine)
• May be produced in larger quantities
• No chemical treatment whatsoever

Conventional Farming [Conventional]

• No use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, or fungicides
• Distillation under low pressure with no overheating
• Usually slow distillation
• Farmers use old traditional methods without chemical substances
• We maintain close personal contact with these farmers to monitor their work
• We feel confident that no chemicals are used in cultivation or manufacturing

Absolute [abs]

• Some plants are not suited to distillation (they lose aroma, properties, or yield)
• Plant material obtained by solvent extraction
• All our absolutes are from hexane extraction, unless otherwise stated
