๐ Sacred History | ืืืกืืืจืื ืงืืืฉื
Cassia (ืงืืืคื โ Kiddah/Ketziah) is one of the 11 sacred ingredients of the Temple Ketoret. It is explicitly mentioned in the Torah (Exodus 30:24) as one of the holy anointing oil spices: "and cassia โ five hundred shekels, by the sanctuary shekel." It also appears in Psalm 45:8: "All your garments are fragrant with myrrh, aloes, and cassia."
Cassia differs from Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) in its higher cinnamaldehyde content, stronger warming properties, and deeper, more intense aroma. In Kabbalistic tradition, it corresponds to Binah โ Understanding, the Great Mother, Saturn, and the deep womb of creation from which all form emerges.

โ๏ธ Chemistry | ืืืืื
Cassia is dominated by cinnamaldehyde (up to 90%), which gives it its powerful warming and antimicrobial properties. This distinguishes it from Ceylon Cinnamon, which has a more balanced profile with lower cinnamaldehyde and higher eugenol content. (Source: Pierre Franchomme & Daniel Pรฉnoรซl)
