Rosa alba — the White Rose — is one of the oldest roses in cultivation, with records dating back to ancient Greece and Rome. Unlike the intensely sweet Rosa damascena or the voluptuous Rosa centifolia, White Rose carries a cleaner, more luminous, ethereal quality — lighter, fresher, with a soft honeyed heart and a whisper of green.

Its essential oil is extracted by hydrodistillation from the freshly harvested petals. It takes approximately 3–5 tonnes of petals to produce just 1 kg of Rose essential oil — making it one of the most precious and labor-intensive oils in the world.
