'Dhani' means 'wealthy' and 'Ishta' means 'complete'. Therefore Dhanishta means 'complete wealth'. In ancient texts, when the sages alluded to a person being wealthy, they meant that they had a wealth of good character, thoughts, and actions — far superior to material wealth. This wealth does not come easily, but through selfless hard work, letting go of personal egos, and acting with compassion and idealism for universal good.

Dhanishta is placed in Aquarius, ruled by Saturn. Mars rules Dhanishta. Mars and Saturn are opposing energies: one represents bravery and action, the other stands for restrictions. The war in this case is fought between the material and the spiritual self.
