There is a map of the human heart.

Not drawn by a therapist or a philosopher — but by Richard Rudd, poet and creator of the Gene Keys, in a work called the Venus Sequence: a structured contemplation pathway through the seven spheres of love encoded in human DNA.

Each sphere governs a different layer of how we love and are loved. Each has a shadow that wounds, a gift that heals, and a siddhi that liberates. And each resonates with extraordinary precision to a specific essential oil — an ancient plant intelligence carrying the same vibrational signature.

This is that map.

🌹 Sphere One: Attraction · Gene Key 46 · Delight

Shadow: Seriousness → Gift: Delight → Siddhi: Ecstasy

The Attraction Sphere governs not who you love, but how you enter love — the quality of your openness to life itself. The wound here is the gravity of someone who has forgotten that existence is a gift. The medicine is Delight: the capacity to be moved, surprised, enchanted.

The oil: Rose (Rosa damascena) — the queen of floral absolutes, the scent of the open heart. No oil on earth carries Delight more directly into the body than rose. You don’t think your way into this sphere. You inhale, and the heart remembers.

💛 Sphere Two: IQ · Gene Key 45 · Communion

Shadow: Dominance → Gift: Synergy → Siddhi: Communion

The IQ Sphere governs how you think with others — the intelligence of genuine collaboration versus the wound of needing to be the one who knows. Love cannot be controlled. The gift is Synergy: the discovery that two minds in true dialogue produce something neither could reach alone.

The oil: Lemon (Citrus limon) — the great clarifier. Cuts through mental fog, dissolves the need to dominate, and restores the clean generous quality of a mind in service of connection rather than performance.

Shadow: Intolerance → Gift: Understanding → Siddhi: Forgiveness

The emotional heart of the sequence. The EQ Sphere governs how feeling moves through you — whether emotion flows cleanly or pools into reactivity, judgment, and resentment. The wound is intolerance: of others, of yourself, of imperfection. The gift is the capacity to feel fully without being swept away.

The oils: Fragonia (Agonis fragrans) and Geranium (Pelargonium graveolens) — our Heart Opening Serum. Fragonia dissolves the armor; Geranium restores the nervous system’s natural warmth. Together they are the aromatherapy of Understanding.

💜 Sphere Four: SQ · Gene Key 55 · Freedom

Shadow: Victimization → Gift: Cellular Certainty → Siddhi: Freedom

The tenderest place in the entire sequence. The SQ Sphere holds the body’s cellular memory — the archive of every emotional experience, including the deepest wounds. When it is contracted, love feels dangerous. The gift that emerges is what Gene Key 55 calls Cellular Certainty: not a belief, not an affirmation — but the body’s primordial sense of safety restored at the cellular level. When every cell says yes.

The oil: Neroli (Citrus aurantium) — blossom of the bitter orange, the oil of emotional rebirth. Neroli calms the nervous system’s most ancient contractions. It does not explain safety. It transmits it.

Shadow: Fantasy → Gift: Anticipation → Siddhi: Emanation

The innermost layer — the deepest nature of your love. The wound of the Core Sphere is the outward projection of love: the belief that what you most deeply need must be found outside yourself, in another person, in the future, somewhere other than here. The gift is Anticipation — the alive, expectant quality of a heart that knows love is already present. The siddhi is Emanation: love radiating outward as the soul’s natural state, needing nothing in return.

The Venus Sequence is not linear. You do not complete one sphere and move to the next. The work happens in spirals — you return to the same sphere again and again, each time at a greater depth.

Begin with the oil that calls most strongly. Notice what it stirs. Sit with it at the pulse points, the heart center, the third eye. The body knows which sphere needs attention before the mind does.
