🕉️ Meaning & Mythology
'Anuradha' means 'a small flash of lightning' or 'a tiny spark', suggesting that it takes only a small flash of intuition or a tiny spark of consciousness to make us aware of our connection with the divine. 'Anu' also means small and 'Radha' is the name of the beloved of Lord Krishna. Radha desired to merge with him — the meaning of Anuradha is connecting the individual to the entirety of the universe.
Anuradha is placed partly in Scorpio, ruled by Mars, and partly in Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter. Saturn rules Anuradha. The portion ruled by Mars gives courage and confidence to face the spiritual trials that Saturn puts in our path. The latter half, ruled by Jupiter, provides the balance to Saturnine restrictions.
